On 30 November open a large photographic exhibition by the American photographer David LaChapelle. The exhibition, called 'Burning Beauty' is his most comprehensive to date, filling all of Fotografiska three floors.

David LaChapelle has for 25 years created a transnational imagery. At the beginning of his career he depicted life and death - home New York's good and bad sides. Artist Presidency was marked by that he constantly asked himself how it was that he just had to live when all his friends died of AIDS.

Part of the exhibition focuses on LaChapelles later works from 2005 onwards. Loaded with a critique of consumer society, he creates a colorful world where all gender, skin color, body types and ages have a place. An example is gender surgery photo model Amanda Lepore who figures in several of the pictures, including Andy Warhol's Marilyn in the picture to the right.

- When I look at my pictures spanning a quarter century, many ideas and thoughts collected. Some of them are deep, the second deals with social problems while some are very personal. It mixes darkness and confusion of images that are just fun and filled with humor, says David LaChapelle.

David LaChapelle and Photographic has a history

David LaChapelle was the first photographer founders Per and Jan Broman exhibited during the construction and preparation of what became Photographic. 2008 they conducted with LaChapelle a major exhibition in Nacka Strand, which was attended by 15,000 people for one month.

- We worked for years to get here David LaChapelle 2008thThe exhibition was proof that Stockholm was ready for a larger photo museum and it meant that we dared Photographic. It is therefore particularly gratifying that it is he who now fills the whole house with its art and gives a new generation the chance to see one of pop culture giants , says Per Broman, founder of the Photographic.

Some people like David LaChapelle has photographed are David Bowie, Madonna, Uma Thurman, Tupac Shakur, Eminem, Lady Gaga, David Beckham and Michael Jackson. He has also devoted himself to music videos, below you can see the result of a collaboration with British songbird Florence + the Machine.
Burning Beauty runs from 30 November 2012 and 3 March 2013, and is one of the most impressive exhibitions Photographic ever curated. Something you simply can not miss.
