David LaChapelle: LOST AND FOUND

Bratislava 18th August 2011 – J&T BANK together with Prague-based agency Pavleye Art and Culture bring unique work of phenomenal David LaChapelle to Slovakia. The most aniticipated exhibition of the year, LOST AND FOUND, includes 30 art pieces of one of the most requested world photographers. The exhibition will take place in Bratislava´s Palffy Palace, from September 14th until October 31st It will be open to public every day except for Monday, from 11:00 a.m. to 18:00 p.m. The entrance fee is 4 Euros. 

The career of David LaChapelle has gone from black and white portrait photography, through costly fashion campaigns, world celebrity portraits, up to the art photography. Direct references to artwork of Michelangelo or Botticeli, marked by characteristic patina of fashion photography, have inspired the critics of David to give him nicknames such as „Fellini of photography“or „Andy Warhol of our era. “

The curator of Bratislava exhibition, Marián Pauer, made pertinent remarks regarding outstanding photographer: „ David LaChapelle is a one-of-a-kind artist on the contemporary photographic scene. His shots have an easily identifiable message; and express unrepeatable vision, limitless fantasy and imaginativeness of the author, who, from the first contact, takes the spectator for an adventurous ride between heaven and hell. “

The partners of this unique exhibition are Best Hotel Properties on behalf of Kempinski Hotel Bratislava and Generali Slovakia. The co-organizer of the exhibition is The City Gallery of Bratislava.
